This online training session is suitable for both professionals and parents who are living with or working with teenagers. Welcome to FACE online training, accredited by the CPD Standards Office. On successful completion of this training you will receive an internationally recognised CPD certificate that can be added to your training portfolio. Teenage brain development is a developmental stage that happens to all of our teens. It has a huge impact on their emotions, thoughts and their behaviour. This course aims to help you understand what is happening inside their heads, so that you can understand how to support them in the most effective way. Communicating effectively with teenagers is key to increasing their engagement with you and improving their levels of co-operation and motivation. Once you understand what is happening inside them, it is easier to understand why they think, feel and behave very differently from adults. This session aims to: Teenage brain development and how it impacts on behaviour Physical needs for teenagers Defining stress & anxiety in teens Time management and SMART goals How to improve communication By the end of this session attendees will be able to: Recognise and adapt to changes in teen thinking, feeling and behaving. Explain simply and clearly to teens what is happening to them. Apply a range of interventions to reduce stress and anxiety. Adapt communication to be more effective in terms of engagement and motivation.
