Facing Defiance
An introduction to managing defiant behaviour
Service Description
Are you struggling to manage your child's defiant behaviour? It is likely that your children will challenge you as they develop, especially as they reach the teenage years. This is a normal part of child development and usually takes the form of questioning, arguing, resisting, defying and avoidance. Sometimes though, this can reach unacceptable levels of verbal and nonverbal behaviour. Many parents are experiencing difficulties in managing their child's defiant behaviour and this is being aggravated by internal issues such as neurodivergency, anxiety and depression, and external issues such as screen addiction, insomnia and substance misuse. If you are struggling and would like some guidance and information on how to manage this type of behaviour without resorting to smacking and shouting, then join this free session. This session aims to outline some family structure and communication skills that can help reduce the occurrence of defiant behaviour. It offers ideas and straight forward interventions that can help empower you to stay calm and in control of your family situation.
